The New York Knicks (37-26) are up 2-0 in their season series with the Philadelphia 76ers (35-28). On Sunday night, the two teams will meet for the first of two consecutive games, with the second scheduled for Tuesday. The Sixers still lack NBA MVP Joel Embiid, and of late their injury list has included Tyrese Maxey, Nicolas Batum, Robert Covington, and De’Anthony Melton.
After the Sixers beat the Dallas Mavericks last Sunday, Maxey went into the NBA’s concussion protocol due to delayed symptoms arising two days later, before Tuesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.
